Well 2012, it's been a slice. The year full of ups and downs is finally coming to a close. I am definitely going into 2013 a whole lot different.
The year started off good. School of course is school, work is work. Not a lot went on. I was unfortunate to lose my best friend in May which was really hard to deal with for a while, especially going into summer. I worked my sixth season for the Winnipeg Goldeyes and we were lucky enough to bring a championship home this year! I started Creative Communications which as of this point, has been the best decision I've ever made in my life without a doubt. I've made some new friends, lost some old ones, and reconnected with some who have been so important in my life.
This holiday season has been tough for me. I haven't wanted to do much celebrating just because it feels weird without certain people to celebrate with. Working in retail has made me not want to do as much shopping which is usually one of my favourite things about Christmas.
All in all, things are hard but they could be worse. I am very thankful for what I have despite the few things I have to move along without. I'm super thankful for my family who has been there for everything and supported me through school and work. I am thankful for my friends especially my new Cre Comm ones who have also been there even when I can be a stressed out whacko crazy person. Stevie, well without this girl the last eight months of my life may have been impossible to get through. The Lysacks, you guys have been so supportive and loving.
This holiday season I've come to the conclusion that no matter how busy things get, no matter how hard times are, and no matter how grouchy I can get, there's nothing more important than sharing the season with loved ones. You really never know how much longer you have to spend with them and you need to cherish every possible moment. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season, and I'll be back in the new year.
