What's Trending?

So I've decided to take a little twist to my blog posts this semester since last semester I thought of an idea for my blog after I had already started the current one I had. We are supposed to blog about something that you can always write new stuff about. So what better way to do that then to write about what's trending on Twitter?

Basically once (or a few times) a week I'll scroll through the #trending list on Twitter and see what topic seems most interesting or that has more comments on. Tell you my thoughts keeping with the theme Stuff Janessa Says, and maybe ask you for your thoughts and opinions. I will try and relate it to Winnipeg but I can't make promises that some other places won't make appearances.

So today's trend.......#gameon because......THE LOCKOUT HAS ENDED!!!!!

Way too excited about this. Mostly because I love watching hockey and life just hasn't been the same without it. TV has replaced hockey times with the lamest reruns of shows that some people don't even care about.

Now I'm not going to lie, the lockout seemed like it would last forever. Nothing was ever getting accomplished in those meetings and people grew more and more frustrated. Stores in Winnipeg that were empty last year are FULL of Jets gear due to people in 'protest.' But okay let's be honest, Jets fans will flock back to the MTS Centre faster than a fat kid to a chocolate cake.

I read an article in the paper a few weeks ago that said fans would all protest and not come back when (and if) hockey did return. But seriously, is that really going to happen? With teams that have sellouts like the Jets I seriously doubt people are going to start throwing away their tickets in formal protest.

But well I'm happy. Now when I have to stay at home on a Saturday night to do homework I'll at least have something good to watch on TV. And I think the downtown businesses will also be very happy that they can dust the cobwebs off the counters and bring back the hockey crowd. I'd like to know your thoughts. Do you think it's good that NHL ended the lockout? Leave your comments!!
