What I started on my short story last night...before I realized I wouldn't have enough time to finish it for today.
You know that feeling? When everything is going right...so right that you know something's bound to go wrong right away. I just experienced that feeling.
Cre Comm deadlines...they're no joke. When something's due at 12:00pm you have it in by 11:59am. The second that clock turns to 12...you've auto failed. By far the worst feeling ever. Losing 50% for being one second late can really ruin your day.
So back to my story. I walk into school this morning an hour before class knowing I had to print an assignment due at 12pm that day. Well I get there around 8:05 and the print shop is closed...So? Yeah well it's supposed to be open at 8. Okay fine maybe they're late. I go upstairs to my locker to put my jacket away and come back around 8:15. Still not open. Okay...I start to panic a little bit but think maybe they're just running late today. Everyone has those days. Well I come back at 8:35 and realize it's still closed. Okay this is not good...I need to colour print. Well there are two shops across from the school so let's try those.
A few of us who still need to print go to these two shops. First one, they don't print. Second one, their printer is broken. Oh my god, could this day get anymore stressful? I had to go back to school for class and start thinking of plan B.
Stressed? You could say that, although that might be an understatement right now. I seriously feel like I'm on a James Bond mission right now. Trying to find a printer just to print one 8.5x11 sheet of colour paper is a lot more difficult than one may think. Again stressing the deadline here, it's no joke.
Fast forward to after class...we now have one hour before 12pm to get this printed. Thank goodness my friend had her truck and we booked it to Staples. In and out in 5 minutes, everything in the world was right again.
I definitely learned a lesson that day....
