I recently got an iPhone in July and got Instagram because it seemed to be the popular thing. Every single Thursday people would post a picture (from years or months previous) with the caption #tbt. I don't know why it took me so long to figure it out, throw back Thursday. (duh right?)
I will rarely ask people what an acronym stands for on social media if I'm not sure. I feel like I'm in a generation where it should be obvious. Sometimes it's not though! People make them up left right and centre how on earth are you supposed to keep up?
YOLO....another one I had NO clue for the longest time what it meant. I had always heard it in the song but never could put it together.
How do I find out?
Usually wait until someone spells it out in a full hash tag to be honest. Google? Sometimes...but I find it's more fun to wait and see.
Anyway just on that note, thought I'd leave you with my Instagram #tbt from a few weeks ago. (FYI I don't do this every Thursday) (FYI ....this means for your information, but I already knew that)
