Roll Up The Rim

You can always tell when Tim Hortons Roll Up The Rim is back. A few key signs:

- McDonald's is giving away free coffee

- The line up for the Timmy's drive thru is double or triple what it normally is

- You can see 90% of people walking down the street or around school / work with a Tim's cup

- People are insanely bitter if they don't get their coffee

I think it's funny because we also discussed this in ad today about how people buy into certain things only when it directly benefits them. A lot of people don't buy Tim's coffee until Roll Up The Rim is on, because they can win instant prizes. I'm not a huge coffee drinker myself (David's Tea is where it's at) but I do find myself buying the occasional Tim's coffee. I mean you can't win if you don't buy right? But I refuse to stand in 30 car long line ups just to maybe have a chance of winning a car. The most I've ever won is free coffee so I think that streak will likely continue.

There's also an online game which I have decided to give a try this time. You essentially get to spin everyday, once a day and earn points/badges. If you get enough points you get Tim's cards, and other prizes. As well, there's a chance to win a VIP package with Phillip Phillips. Check er out. http://www.rolluptherimtowin.com/en/index.php

It's people like this (16 year old) who drive people crazy. This girl won a brand new car just by buying a coffee like everyone else. But all you do is hear people whine and complain about how a 16 year old shouldn't win a brand new car. Well, it is what it is. Everyone has an equal chance of winning, they pay their 1.00-3.00 they get what they get.
