Like a lot of students, I pretty much couldn't live without my music. On those long bus rides, during work periods, and while going for walks down the trail my playlist seems to make time go by much quicker. Now I think that my first 30 songs would prove to be to long of a post so I'll pick my first ten and give a little story about what the song means to me (or why it has the pleasure of being on my playlist.)
1) Die Young : Ke$ha
Okay I know some of you are probably judging. But this is one of my 'I'm stressed so I'm gonna dance around my room like a fool' songs. It's got a great beat and makes me forget about stress for a little while.
2) Bangarang : Skrillex
This song brings back memories of summers at Goldeyes. The very first time I heard this song was while working at a Goldeyes game and I just remember our whole production team just banging their heads and going crazy. One of the funnest moments of summer for sure, and makes think of how awesome the people I work with are.
3) Good Time : Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen
This song is more chill. I don't have a lot to say about it.
4) Keep On : Eric Church
I don't need to explain much for this except that my love for Eric Church is larger than a fat kid's love for a brownie. I just recently got to attend his concert in Winnipeg with my BFCC Sarah and had such a blast. Country music has become a major staple to my playlist in the last few years and I don't mind at all.
5) The Motto : Drake
Also a Goldeyes memory. I believe this was a walk up song for one of our players.
6) Pursuit of Happiness : Project X
This is one of those "I have enough money left on a gift card to download one song so I'm gonna pick the first one I see on iTunes". I was not disappointed.
7) Everything Has Changed : Taylor Swift
This song (along with many Taylor Swift songs) now have a lot more meaning to my life. One of my friends who passed away this past May loved Taylor Swift. A lot of her lyrics make me think of him, and sometimes make me think of happy times, sometimes sad times. This song is quite true though, everything has changed.
8) Hall of Fame : The Script
I just love this song. It's great. Phenomenal. The lyrics, the music everything. Another one of those dance around my room songs, it's just beautiful.
9) Country Music Jesus: Eric Church
Oh well look at that! TWO Eric Church songs. Gotta love it.
10) Let Me Love You : Ne-Yo
I rather enjoy the beat to this song. Again, not a lot to say about it, just that it's a good pop song.
