The atmosphere in Shaw Park last night was electric. Fans were out of their seats, clapping, chanting, even starting the wave. There was no doubt the fans wanted the Goldeyes to win just as bad as the team.
The Winnipeg Goldeyes and Fargo Moorhead Redhawks faced off in game three of a best of five series last night. Winnipeg came out victorious with a final of 4-1. Kyle Day hit a ground ball in the bottom of the fourth which resulted in an error for the Redhawks and gave the Goldeyes two runs. Amos Ramon then had a hit which brought in two more runs for the Goldeyes and that was all the scoring they needed to win the game. The fans were literally cheering from the first pitch to long after the game was over. You couldn't pay anyone to act otherwise. It was unreal.
The Goldeyes now advance to the finals where they will face the Wichita Wingnuts who also swept their series against Loredo. The games will be Tuesday and Wednesday evening at Shaw Park at 7pm. If you have not been to a playoff game or any game this summer for that matter I highly recommend you come out one of these nights. It will be unreal and come on our boys need the support so get out and buy your tickets now!
It is unreal how amazing it felt to be a part of that celebration last night. This is my sixth season with the Winnipeg Goldeyes and every year it gets better. Last night felt like we won the championship. Everyone was screaming, hugging, even shedding a few tears. We were all so proud of how far our team has come and can't wait to see what next week brings.
