What Made Me Mad As A Kid

Essentially I found over the last two or three years that what made me mad as a kid, I sometimes wish I could go back and not be so mad over it. The littlest things used to make me (or any kid) mad or sad. Sometimes now I wish I could go back to the days where someone made my decisions for me because they seemed so much easier.

Going To bed Early
Seriously, I just wanted to finish the end of my movie or see what exciting things we're gonna happen. Now almost everyday I wish I could be in bed by 8pm. How nice life would be.

Saving Money vs Spending
Granted that I'm still okay at this, I would much rather go out for dinner or take a shopping trip to buy a new pair of shoes instead of putting money away for retirement. (which doesn't seem so silly anymore)

Having To Pick a Neutral Background Color For Picture Day
I know this sounds stupid but my mom would never let me be adventurous. I always had to pick grey or navy blue so that I could wear any clothes and it would match. I always got so mad so one year I switched the color when I got to school. (ooopsie)

Indoor Recess
Seriously who DIDN'T hate that?! Being stuck inside for class all day is bad enough but then on those -40 Winnipeg days that awful 'indoor recess' announcement can just make or break your day. SO LAME.

My Favorite Chosen from Twitter
#WhatMadeMeMadAsAKid How the 10 second clean up on the Big Comfy Couch was never 10 seconds...

Now some of the choices I have to make
- choosing a major (aka my job for the rest of my life)
- what to do for the summer (work my life away, go away, tan everyday?)
- what outfit to wear to school tomorrow (this is a huge problem everyday of my life)

Some days I hate the decisions I'm forced to make. Then again, such is life. So I just remember to treasure every moment and take every day with a face like this....

  1. You are so right - I battle with my 6-year-old to get her to bed at 8, and would love nothing more than to be in bed myself at 8:15!

  2. This is the kind of learning that nobody believes without experiencing it.
